Site development

The creation of economically, socially and ecologically sustainable housing and work areas represents a major challenge for the regions, cities and municipalities of Switzerland. In view of the tensions arising from location competition and environmental, energy and climate policies as well as tight public finances and heterogeneous stakeholder interests, econcept is committed to a transformation towards sustainable regional development and sustainable building and infrastructure parks. To this end, we are researching new approaches and sustainable strategies in the field of construction and helping public and private institutions to develop, implement and evaluate programmes, measures and instruments. An important foundation to this work is the thorough analysis of the motives and behaviour of the stakeholders.

Focus Areas

We support decision-makers in sustainable development by their municipalities, cities, regions and cantons as well as infrastructure parks and real estate by analysing and monitoring strategic processes. With our expertise in regional and agglomeration policies, we also advise the federal government, cantons and regions on how to design, coordinate and evaluate the promotion efforts for their location.

    econcept hat die Fachhochschule Graubünden bei der regionalökonomischen Untersuchung der Bedeutung von Wasserzinsen für das Puschlav unterstützt. Das Projekt ist Teil des Nationalen Forschungsprogramms Energiewende (NFP70).

    Im Zusammenhang mit einem kommunalen Projekt zur Energieerzeugung wurde das im Auftrag des Kantons Graubünden durch econcept entwickelte kommunale Geschäftsmodell für die Gemeinde Bergell zur Anwendung gebracht.

    Bei der "Genossenschaft Kalkbreite" wurde untersucht, wie sich eine Veränderung des Wohnumfelds auf das Verhalten der Bewohnenden in den Bereichen Wohnen und Mobilität auswirkt.

    Erfolgskontrolle 2000-Watt-Gebäude

    Bei fünf 2000-Watt-Gebäuden wurde die Zielerreichung überprüft und es wurden Konzeptgrundlagen für ein künftiges Monitoring solcher Gebäude erarbeitet.
